Rules

We want No Time to Write Club to be supportive, productive, and adaptive to the needs of its members. So we’re keeping it really simple. Be cool. We will monitor things, but if we miss something that concerns you, let us know. See below for slightly more detail.

The most active members of NTTWC—and certainly its founders—are a pretty lefty bunch. In this group, we believe in democracy and in the human rights and equal treatment of women, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ people (including a strong commitment to recognizing the full personhood and citizenship of transgender and nonbinary people). We welcome anyone who embraces those values—and we emphatically do not welcome anyone who threatens the psychological or physical safety of any of our members.

BASIC RULES:

  1. If you show disrespect to others in any part of No Time to Write Club, we’ll deal with you as the situation requires, from an exploratory conversation to removal from the group to reporting to Substack.

  2. Support each other. We already don’t have time to write. We definitely don’t have time to feel shitty because someone else feels like they need to tear us down.

  3. Be yourself. Have fun. We’re all in this together.

WRITING SPRINT RULES

  1. Do not share the NTTWC Zoom link with others. This is a members-only activity.

  2. Turn off your mic during sprinting time.

  3. See Basic Rules.

IF WE HAVE TO BREAK BAD

  1. We do not want to break bad, so be cool.

  2. We reserve the right to remove participants from writing sprints, chats, and from NTTWC itself if they violate our rules or behave in a manner we feel is detrimental to the community as a whole.
